Ruth Sophia Brink

Ruth Sophia (Tscharner) Brink Feb 21, 1918 - Oct 26, 2013 Born in Seattle, WA to Sophia Philippin Tscharner and Bartlett B. Tscharner, Ruth was an only child. While a Sociology major at Willamette University, she met and married Mervin W. Brink. A 71 year resident of Hillsboro and recipient of the Emma McKinney Woman of Achievement Award, she was a civic leader throughout Washington County. Ruth and Merv had six children: Bill (Dorothy), Barney (Nancy), David (Donna), Matt (Kathy), Mike (Julie), and Katie (Jack), thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am November 2 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church or Hospice of Washington County.
