Mary Margaret Petersen

Our loving wife and mother Mary Margaret Petersen passed away peacefully in her sleep and

left her family to be with the Lord on the evening of June 21st 2025,

She was 88 years old.

Mary was born July 27th 1936 in Boswell Oklahoma. Her family made their way to Oregon

when she was young girl and Hillsboro is where they put down roots and raised a large family of ten.

Mary graduated from Hilhi, Class of 1955. Mary had a great career working at Economy Drug as a

soda fountain girl, Post office attendant, Utilities payment clerk, Manager and Bookkeeper.

She retired from Economy Drug after nearly 35 years in 1991.

Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Jim Petersen.

They met and married in September of 1964, called Hillsboro home and raised a family of their own.

She leaves behind a son, Robert A. Baker and his wife Kathleen. A grandson Jake Baker and

his partner Caitlan Kuhn. Great grandchildren, Rylynn Kelso, Carlee Kuhn and Jay Kuhn.

Mary also leaves behind her daughter Darnella Petersen and her partner Justin Siler.

She leaves behind her granddaughter Brook Joleen Schumacher, and her husband Tyer.

Great grandson Emmett and great granddaughter Ivy Schumacher.

Granddaughter Bobbi Jo Newman, and her husband Ryan, Great granddaughter Ember Rose Newman.

Mary's surviving siblings are her sisters Katie Fisher, Lorrene Feeder, both from Washington.

Emma Krumholtz and Bud Bownes. Many Nieces and Nephews and their families.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents, her siblings Suzie Porter, Judy Enstrom, sister Tina Joslyn,

her brothers Edward Bownes, and Warren Speer.

Giving of Respect viewing for Mary will be prior to the start of her memorial at: 10:30

A memorial service will be held at Fir Lawn Memorial Park chapel: JULY 2 at 11:00 am

A private graveside family gathering will follow.
