Katherine Ann Huff

May 26, 1926 — May 19, 2026

Katherine Ann Huff, known lovingly as Kathy, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Hillsboro, Oregon, with her grandchildren by her side, just one week before her 100th birthday. Born on May 26, 1926, in Sacramento, California, Kathy lived a long, full life marked by devotion, generosity, and a spirit that was as tough as it was tender.

Kathy graduated from Hillsboro High School, where she played basketball as a young girl, sparking a lifelong love of the game. That passion carried her through the decades as an avid Portland Trail Blazers fan who never missed a chance to cheer on her team. After school, she built a life centered around family, serving as a dedicated stay-at-home mom before eventually working for the educational service district, from which she retired.

Kathy married Andrew Huff at the age of 17, and together they shared an extraordinary 75 years of marriage. She was a woman of remarkable strength, someone who told it like she saw it and kept her home in impeccable order. Yet beneath that toughness was a deeply loving and generous heart. She gave freely of herself to everyone around her, and those who knew her understood that her honesty came from a place of genuine care.

Kathy found great joy working in her yard, spending countless hours tending to her flower gardens and working with Andy in the greenhouse. She was an avid gardener whose green thumb brought beauty to every space she touched. She and Andy also raised German Shepherds over the years, filling her home with the loyal companionship she so treasured.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Huff; her sons, Michael Huff and Patrick Huff ; her granddaughter Rachael Anne Hoach. She is survived by granddaughter Micholine Huff and grandson in law Ron Hoach, Son in law Eric Meese, along with 5 great grandchildren, Melaney Carter, Jimmy Lupoli, Jessykah Lopez, Elaine Hoach, and Andrew Hoach. As Well as 11 great great grandchildren whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.

Kathy's faith sustained her throughout her life, and we trust she now rests peacefully in the Lord's embrace.

As we remember Kathy, we hold close these words: The beauty of a memory is that it's always there, like a penny in your pocket, you can take it anywhere. And when your heart is heavy and your eyes are filled with tears, you can focus on a memory and travel through the years. Your heart can visit happy times when laughter filled the air, and the presence of your loved one will lessen your despair. So, as you travel on in life, take comfort as you go, in a lifetime of sweet memories of one who loved you so. Grandma would say that was all she had left was her sweet memories.
