James (Jim) Michael Schimmel passed away peacefully in his Woodland Washington home during the early hours of March 5th, 2025 at 52 years old.
Jim was born the third child of Irwin and Pamela Schimmel on July 20th, 1972, in Portland, Oregon.
In his high school years, Jim proudly competed in wrestling at Glenco High School where he also graduated in the class of 1991.
In 1996, Jim married his lifelong partner, Jennifer. They met at Thomas Jr. High in the 8th grade and later reconnected. Jim and Jennifer had 28 years filled with joy and 2 children.
Jim was a humble, but successful business owner of over 20 years after a career change in his late 20's. He worked full-time while earning certificates in information technology and preparing for the birth of his firstborn child. Jim was a testament to what hard work and perseverance can earn a person.
For the majority of his life, Jim's number one priority was his family. He was a devoted husband and proud father of two. He strived in his life, work, and even his final years to provide, protect, and guide his family. Jim told stories of humility, kindness, and perseverance to those around him. After his children graduated, Jim enjoyed trips to the dunes with his brother Steve, where they made many new memories together.
While his family is saddened by the loss of such an amazing man, his memory will live on through memories made and lessons he taught. Jim is preceded in death by his Uncle Rollin Schimmel and Father Irwin Schimmel. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Schimmel, two children Brooke and Gage Schimmel, his mother Pamela Schimmel, and siblings Steve Schimmel, Theresa Spencer, and Mia Stanfill.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on March 20th at Mountainside Cemetery, 17675 SW Hillsboro Hwy Hillsboro, OR. Jim's Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on March 25th at Scholls Valley Lodge, 12840 SW River Road Hillsboro, OR.
