Gellman, Sidney 91 April 23, 1921 July 01, 2012 Sidney Gellman, age 91, passed away July 1, 2012. He was born April 23, 1921, in Romania. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Mt. Olive Cemetery of Laurel in Hillsboro. Sidney moved to New York as an infant. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, he married Flora Roslyn Levy and they were happily married for 62 years until she passed away in 2009. Sidney worked in retail in his family's business, for May Company and then, when he and his wife moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in their own jewelry and handbag business for 32 years. They retired in 2004 and moved to Oregon to be near their family. Sidney is survived by his two daughters, Eileen Schneider (husband, Neil) and "Gell" Gellman (partner in life, Camille Casero); granddaughters, Amanda Schneider and Sara Hoeckendorf; and great-grandson, Daniel. He will be missed immensely.
