Gladys Marvell Casey

April 24, 1917 - January 15, 2012

Gladys passed away at her home with her family present on Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012 in Forest Grove. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 24, 1917 to Olive and Charles Jones. She was part of a large family. In 1930, at 13 years old she moved with her family to Southern California. She married Floyd Casey in November, 1938. They enjoyed camping at the beach and Yosemite. Gladys loved entertaining and sewing. Their two daughters, Judy and Kathy were born in California. In 1951 the Casey's moved to Arizona and Tim was born there. Many great family memories took place in Arizona and visits from nieces and nephews. In May 1991 Gladys and Floyd moved to Forest Grove to be closer to their family. Gladys was a member of Evergreen Christian Center in Hillsboro. After Floyd's death in 1992 Gladys moved to the Forest Villa Apartments then to the Vintage Suite Assisted Care in Forest Grove. She was a vital part of the community there. She loved visiting and meeting new people. She was chosen Rose Princess in 2008 and was awarded the Enrichment of Life Award in 2010. In the spring of 2011 she was chosen Rose Queen. Her last years she served the Lord and ministered to many. She loved spending time with her family and going on beach trips. Gladys is survived by her daughters Judy Cuddigan (Craig) of Portland, Kathy Escue (Sam) of Nashville, Tennessee, and son Tim Casey (Nancy) of Forest Grove. Her grandchildren are Cari Roberti (Dan), Jeff Cuddigan (Debi), Sheri Ward (Tom), Dan Escue (Alisa), Kelly and Teresa Casey. The great grandchildren are Sarah and Geoffery Roberti, Aly, Nick, and Reed Cuddigan, Allie, Bethany and Danielle Ward.
